Wood Pellets
Wood Pellets are progressively gaining importance as an alternative source of energy for heating and power generation because of the high cost of fossil fuels and the reduced environmental impacts associated with the use of fossil fuels. Wood Pellets are produced from the by-products of wood processing industries, such as sawdust, wood shavings, bark and wood debris. Wood Pellets are economical to transport, dust-free and are easy to handle in automated feed systems.
Pelleting process of waste of wood (sawdust, wood shavings, bark and wood debris) can obtain small pressed cylinders of 6 mm diameter that contain good energy for natural and economic heating.
• It is natural because it is virgin wood without addictives;
• It is economical because its cost is less than any other type of energy (gas-oil, natural gas…).
A few reasons why pellets are advantageous:
- Ecologic product with low noxious fumes and without CO²
- Contains twofold the calorific power of wood
- High autonomy of heating
- Energetic low cost
- Low quantity of ash and smoke during the burning
- Requires little storage and it is clean
- Government financing as incentive for the waste recycling and environmental friendly product.
