Afforestation

As a forestry management company, we are planting teak trees from our own nursery to create a forest on waste land which has never been a forest. Our teak trees are planted in an ethical and environmentally responsible way. Our plantations are located in high fertile deforested lands and we plan to produce high-quality teak timber using the latest techniques for growing teak, best silviculture, environmental and social practices.

We plant from seeds in nursery or use cuttings from well performing standing trees. To get the best returns from our plantations, we make sure the trees grow tall and straight with no limbs. We take pruning very seriously and all trees are pruned to create superior quality wood. The first five years of every plantation are crucial. We therefore take great care of young trees. Maintenance by pruning and thinning is primordial in the first few years of the plantations. From Year Five, trees from the thinning process can be sold to generate immediate income.

We are also in the process of elaborating the plantation of other spices such us Mahogany, Iroko, Ebony, Eucalyptus, Cedrela or Spanish-cedar and Gmelina both in Togo and Ghana.
